    Tuesday Nights

Tonight I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with Ashley. We had a great time. I tried a Caribbean Jerk. That's the hottest I've ever eaten. I should probably keep the chapstick close by tonight.

I'm not really loving school right now. Classes are okay, it's just kind of weird because I was here on campus working all summer and didn't get a long enough break from USF. Can't wait for Fall Break.

I've been listening to Selena Gomez and the Scene. It's pretty typical Disney Channel girl star. Although I like Selena better. I feel she has more personality and spunk than H-Mon.

I should do some homework now.

  • can you imagine me as a marine biologist?  I used to want to be one and swim with dolphins but I freak out when a big spider is on me.  the plankton would freak me out along with every other semi dangerous to really dangerous marine animal.

  • roll that beautiful bean footage

I'm finally started the editing process for the bat mitzvah that I filmed a week ago. Shabbat Shalom means peaceful sabbath. That phrase was said multiple times that day. Basically a bat mitzvah is a thirteen year old leading the sabbath service. Since I'd never been to a regular service, I had no idea what to expect. I just felt in the way. I stood in the back, on a chair so I could reach the camera buttons. The place was packed though so there were people sitting behind me. At least there was lots of standing during the service so they could maybe look around me. Later that night, there was a dance at the country club. Note: there's mouth wash in soap dispensers at the country club just so you're aware and don't try and wash your hands with the green runny soap. It was your average dance with a DJ from Dallas who brought his own dancer and your traditional chair raising dance. I stood on a chair in the corner of the dance floor most of the night. After standing on a chair most of the day, Erin and I decided to run through the sprinklers at the country club. Best idea ever because it was hot and sweaty on the dance floor.

Remember American Girl magazine? and the American Girl dolls? I loved the crafts in that magazine and the back to school one was my favorite so I'm going to go to B&N later and buy it just for fun.

My maps (for my 50 states collection) are coming in! The people in the mailroom always ask if I'm planning a trip. I might have to because California has a Legoland Resort or something like that.

I bought the new Mat Kearney cd, City of Black and White. I really enjoy it.

  • living every week like it's shark week

On 30 Rock, Tracy Jordan gives this advice to Kenneth and since it is shark week, it reminded me of it. Although I don't feel like I'm living any differently this week than I have any other week.

I went home healthy and came back with a good ole sinus infection of sorts. They used to be my good friends in high school when I could stay home from school but they are very inconvenient now.

Since I'm sick I've been watching lots of tv. Mainly Wizards of Waverly Place and iCarly with a little shark week and House thrown in when neither of those are on.

My plan for this week is to deep clean my room in GI that I will be living in, in the fall. Hopefully I get well soon, so I can start cleaning and moving over there.

  • There's No Place Like Home

I'm going home this weekend and I'm very excited. The only bummer is that my mom isn't going to be home. But she did tell dad my menu request so hopefully I'll eat some corn on the cob because I've missed having that urgent need to floss your teeth.

If this post could have a subtitle it would be It's a Wonderful Life. (this reminds me of a 30 Rock episode when Tracy Jordan is going to write a book and he lists a very long title with many punctuation marks)
    Check out this picture:

This is an old school black and white picture of mom and the chilluns decorating the Christmas tree. It reminds me of It's a Wonderful Life, hence the subtitle. When Maggie and I went to Harold's Photo Center last week, I got a copy of this picture since the scan is pretty bad, as you can see. Now I want to find an old timey looking picture frame and on Saturday, Katie and I are going rummaging in Platte so maybe I'll find something then.

Anne of Green Gables grows up to make guest appearances in tv crime shows.

Monday night I was just chilling in my room and watching tv.  I've developed a bad habit of falling asleep when a show is half over and then waking up for the last 5-10 minutes.  Who knows how they solved that case on House?  Then I started watching Lie To Me and the same thing happened.  But when I woke up, I kept watching because Megan Follows, of Anne of Green Gables fame, was on the show.  She portrayed a worried mother of child who had been kidnapped.  Her hair's not quite as red as it used to be but at least it isn't green.

    premium

I've been saving up my xanga credits for a while now and today, I bought xanga premium.  I haven't quite figured out all the new things but I did upload another profile picture.  But, hopefully, since I bought xanga premium, I'll use my xanga wisely and post more.

I know everyone is just thrilled about this.

    it's already been done before

It looks like I'm not the picture taker this weekend either.  Erin and I are going to visit Sherri on the mink farm and Erin informed me that she would be bringing her camera and she plans on filling up the memory card.  oh well.

Last Saturday, I saw my cousin Doug.  The last time I'd seen him (or he'd seen me, rather) was when I was 10 months old.  Doug, his wife, and two of their kids were in town for a disc golf tournament.  So the siblings and I went out and met them at the park around 9:30 and then Pete and I had lunch with them.  It was much less horrible than I had expected it to be.

Watching the tournament inspired me, so the next day I went out and bought three discs of my own to go and play.  I've played twice now.  Corbin and I went out there last night and tried to perfect our throwing technique.

On the plus side: neither of us threw a frisbee into the river.
